Support the family of Travis "TJ" Huntley, Jr.
His name was Travis Marice Huntly, Jr. Here at Big Bend Habitat for Humanity, Inc. he was affectionately known as "TJ". TJ joined the BBHH family at the end of the summer 2022 when he began showing up to work/volunteer with his brother Antonio who is a member of the BBHH construction team. For nearly three months, whenever you saw Antonio on the build site you saw TJ. They were so in sync that if Antonio showed up without TJ everyone wanted to know where TJ was. From day one, TJ’s bright personality was on display for everyone to see. Always respectful, he was a ball of energy and he kept everyone laughing with jokes and commentary. TJ was inquisitive and had great leadership qualities. TJ would often share his dream of completing culinary school and opening a restaurant someday. Even more important was his desire to become a mentor so that he could help other young people see beyond their circumstances. Unfortunately, on Sunday, November 27, 2022, TJ tragically lost his life due to a senseless act of gun violence while playing basketball with friends. TJ had just celebrated his 20th birthday in October.
Since the death of TJ, many people have asked how they can help the family during this very difficult time. Because of this, we have set up this Donor Box campaign to receive donations on behalf of his family. All financial donations made will be given to TJ’s family to assist them during their time of need. No amount is too small, and every donation is greatly appreciated.
