Kim has been a lifelong advocate for equity and believes strongly in the power of community. Having lived in Portugal Cove – St. Philip’s with her two sons, Hunter and Carter, and husband, Todd for almost 20 years, Kim will bring a strong voice on the issues facing residents of the district to the House

of Assembly.

She has been the recipient of many awards including the Henry Vlug Award in 2023 from the Canadian Association of the Deaf and the NL Human Rights Award in 2022 for her contribution to advancing and furthering human rights in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Kim’s passion and commitment to public service and the community is rivaled only by her tenacity and work ethic. Most recently, she successfully pursued a six-year-long human rights complaint on behalf of her Deaf son Carter in the face of overwhelming odds against one of the largest public entities in the

province.
