Goal
Support Students Protecting Education!
They told us to sit down and be quiet. We decided to organize instead.
In 2022 at a school board meeting in New York, students stood up to speak against attempts ban books from their library. They were told they were "brainwashed" & "too young to understand." Those students? Our founders.
What started as a few voices turned into Students Protecting Education—a national, student-led movement fighting back against censorship, exclusion, and injustice in our schools.
Since then, we’ve helped organize speak outs, overturned harmful policies, launched local chapters, trained hundreds of youth advocates, and helped draft legislation that protects student voices and inclusive education.
But the fight is far from over. Extremist groups are pumping money into school board races, passing laws that erase marginalized identities, and silencing student speech.
That’s why we need your help.
At Students Protecting Education, we are a youth-led movement working to protect students, defend education, and demand change at every level of government. Founded by students, for students, we believe that every young person deserves access to an education that is inclusive, representative, and empowering.
Whether it’s pushing back against censorship in classrooms, fighting for inclusive policies at school board meetings, or organizing national campaigns for student rights, our team is building a future where every student, regardless of identity or background, can thrive.
What can your contribution help us do?
- $10 covers printing flyers and materials for a local school board advocacy campaign.
- $20 buys pizza for students making late-night phone calls to legislators about a harmful education bill.
- $50 provides digital ad space to fight book bans and spread awareness in communities under attack.
- $100 pays for a train ticket to the state capitol so a student can speak to lawmakers in person.
- $250 funds a student's tuition to our Activist Academy, equipping them with the skills to be a seasoned activist.
- $500 supports the creation of one of our free advocacy toolkits, providing skills to students nationwide.
- $1,000+ sends five students to their state capitol for a full day of lobbying, including transportation, meals, and printed policy materials.
Every dollar helps us build, organize, and fight back.

About Students Protecting Education
Our Core Values:
Education
A free and just society depends on equitable access to quality education; from pre-K to college.
Inclusivity
Every student should feel safe to express themselves without fear of being excluded or silenced.
Learning
True education comes from teaching all perspectives, encouraging critical thinking and open dialogue.
Diversity
Diverse classrooms help students understand the world and people beyond their own experiences.
Access
All students deserve equal access to books, resources, and an education that reflects and respects who they are.
Our Goals:
Students Protecting Education is committed to advancing student-centered policies by working with lawmakers to defend academic freedom and educational equity. We fight censorship and book bans, protect the rights and safety of LGBTQ+ students, and create inclusive schools where all students feel they belong. Through leadership training, we empower young people to organize, advocate and lead change. We run student-led campaigns for education justice, support pro-education candidates at every level of government, and hold decision-makers accountable to the students they serve.
