Help a Single Mother Reunite with Her Detained Son
Yessica's son, Jonaikel Sierra Palencia, was detained by ICE on his way to work on March 30, 2025— a hardworking young man with no criminal record is now facing an uncertain future behind bars and he is being threaten to be sent to notorious CECOT prison in El Salvador. As a single mother, she’s now fighting to bring him home with the support of OCAD.
UPDATE: the bond has been paid but ICE is not releasing Jonaikel, OCAD is currently working with legal team, and IL state senators to pressure ICE for his release. The funds on this page are to support the family financially and eventually help Jonaikel make the trip back to Chicago after his release.
She urgently needs support to cover legal fees specifically a $25K Bond, and extra funding would be for basic needs while he's in detention, and emergency living expenses as Yessica and her younger son face eviction by a harassing landlord.
