Give to SHC and Deliver a Welcoming Embrace to Refugees from Afghanistan in our Community

Since 2017, SHC has warmly embraced hundreds of refugees and immigrants from more than 20 countries. The majority are SIV families from Afghanistan. Over the next weeks upwards of 2,500 Afghans will begin arriving in the US every day after a long and harrowing journey.  A good number will be resettled in the Washington, DC metro area where they will begin to rebuild their lives.

Through referrals from resettlement agencies and word of mouth within the refugee community, many will join SHC programs. Our programs are thoughtful, effective and delivered in a supportive environment — kind of like a big warm hug. With so many newcomers on the way, we’re going to need really big arms to wrap around folks. In other words, we need to increase program capacity right away. You can help.

Please make a donation today to support SHC programs that light the path for a brighter future.
