Support Resilient Yoga Community Programs!
The Indianapolis community (as well as comminities all around the world) continues to struggle with chronic stress, a major health risk that causes many other chronic diseases and anti-social behavior including violence. People living in urban areas (cities) are particularly vulnerable. A regular yoga practice has been shown to improve resilience, coping skills and overall well being while decreasing stress, anxiety, depression, anger and agitation.
Resilient Yoga is a GROWING community based nonprofit organization committed to empowering people to reduce stress, be well and face the challenges of life with RESILIENCE through the practice of yoga. We accomplish this by partnering with local organizations and businesses to provide low/no cost community based yoga practices and workshops that encourage everyone, no matter their economic situation or skill level to enjoy the benefits of yoga in a relaxed, judgement free community environment.
In the past year, Resilient Yoga has partnered with multiple community organizations like the MLK Community Center, Community Alliance for the Far Eastside (CAFÉ), Lawrence United Methodist Church and the Center of Wellness for Urban Women (CWUW) to provide over 280 participants, many new to yoga, with a stress free zone for weekly practice. This year, we will expand our number of community partnerships and more than double the number of participants served.
Help us continue improving the health of our city and creating more stress free zones by becoming a donor today! Your support is crucial to our mission and people looking to make positive changes in their lives. By becoming a donor, you provide trained teachers, mats, blocks, straps, towels, space and more, making it possible for people of all backgrounds and abilities to benefit from this transformative practice.
