Support the PS 516 Sunset Park Avenue Community Pantry

At PS 516 Sunset Park Avenues, our school community looks out for one another. Families, staff, and caregivers work together every day to make sure students can learn, grow, and feel supported.

Like many communities across New York City, some PS 516 families experience moments when food access or basic necessities are harder to come by. When schools respond with care and practical support, it helps remove barriers so students can stay focused on learning.

Our school food pantry and student support fund are one way we do that.

With support from the PS 516 PTA, the school, and our parent coordinator, we’re working to keep the pantry stocked and accessible to any family who chooses to use it. Funds raised through this campaign go directly toward sustaining and strengthening this shared resource.

If you prefer to donate via Zelle, you can send your contribution to pta@sunsetparkavenues.org and note “pantry” in the comment.

How Community Contributions Are Used

Food for Families: Nutritious, culturally familiar groceries and basic household items

Student Essentials: Coats, school supplies, hygiene items, and occasional transit support

Pantry Infrastructure: Shelving, refrigeration, and systems that allow families to access resources with privacy and dignity

The Impact of Giving

$50 helps provide a bag of groceries for a family

$75 supports a winter coat for a student

$300 helps maintain a fully stocked pantry for a week

Any amount strengthens this shared safety net

By contributing, you’re helping PS 516 remain a place where families support one another and students can come to school ready to learn.

Thank you for being part of the Sunset Park Avenue community.
