Goal
A HUGE thanks to everyone who donated and helped me raise over £10,000 last year to buy 20 large tents to house 20 families of four people in Syria, in North Idlib / Jenderis / Afreen.
As always I've thought about which charity I should support this year and after more research and discussion about the needs in Syria, I have decided to work with Mountain of Mercy.
I chose this charity because my nephew travelled with them to Jordan and donated money and saw how they helped displaced Syrians himself.
Working with Al-Imdaad Foundation to support Syrian Refugees and Poor Jordanians in 2024, the Jordan team identified Syrian families requiring assistance, having lost one or both parents. With no place for the families in a refugee camp, they have been left to wander with no safety or security, absent of basic needs. With their legal guardian, the families are to be homed in Al-Imdaad’s orphan complex providing safety, security, education, medical care, and housing. The complex aims to create self-sufficiency, teaching building, carpentry, and sewing skills amongst others.
The families have been vetted as zakah eligible, sponsorship will cover all housing, medical, and education costs.
Much love, peace, and blessings to you all,
A. M. Dassu
