At the heart of the success of the One-Room class is Maria Herrera, our dedicated local teacher. Our primary focus for 2024 is on elevating Maria's educational journey. With your generous donations, our goal is to send Maria to the first year of a four-year program at Martin Lutero University in Chinandega, where she will pursue a bachelor's degree in Pedagogy. This endeavor aims to provide Maria with a robust education, empowering her to further develop her early education teaching skills.
Additionally, we aspire to recruit a bilingual support teacher with a tailored educational skill set. This dedicated professional will work alongside Maria, offering support in curriculum building, classroom beautification, creating engaging learning "centers," and leading STEM and project-based learning activities.
