We believe everyone has the right to healthy indoor air. We're building the platform to make this a reality.
Hi, please take a moment to read this. At Moldmap, we’re on a mission to make healthy indoor air accessible to everyone--we believe that every person deserves a safe environment to breathe.
However, creating and maintaining this resource requires community support. As a startup dedicated to sustainability through innovation, our goal is to become self-sustaining.
But right now, we need your contributions to help fund the early development stages of Moldmap, so that we can make it a trusted, reliable tool for everyone.
By contributing today, you’re helping us take essential steps toward our long-term vision: gathering data and community insights to advocate for new standards and policies that will protect indoor air quality for all.
Whatever amount you choose to contribute, know that you are helping power this critical platform to help make healthy indoor air accessible to all. We are grateful for your support.
Thank you for supporting our mission and believing in a healthier future for everyone.
Sincerely,
Justin Carlson

Mold Exposure Sucks.
We get it. We've lived it. We've spent a lot of time thinking about how to solve this issue.
And that's why we're developing Moldmap, the world’s first community-powered app dedicated to helping you find clean, healthy indoor spaces.
Built by people with sensitivities, for those who need it most, Moldmap will users to:
- Discover and review hotels, rentals, and public spaces that are free from mold, fragrances, and toxins.
- Avoid risky environments and prioritize your health by finding safe places with trustworthy, crowdsourced insights.
- Travel, work, or search for a new home with confidence.
Why Is Healthy Indoor Air Critical?
Indoor air quality is a growing concern with significant health impacts, especially as we spend up to 90% of our time indoors (EPA).
While many assume indoor environments are safer, studies show that indoor air can be 2-5 times more polluted than outdoor air.
This hidden risk comes from common factors like mold, VOCs, and synthetic fragrances, which can aggravate respiratory issues, allergies, and chronic conditions.
For those with sensitivities or conditions like CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome), MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivity), and asthma, even low levels of these pollutants can cause debilitating symptoms.
Mold alone affects over 50% of U.S. homes and is responsible for nearly one in five asthma cases (WHO, Mayo Clinic).
The data is clear: we have an indoor air quality crisis and it's making people sick. Addressing this problem is paramount to supporting a healthy future for everyone.
Moldmap is here to empower you with the knowledge to avoid these hazards.
By providing crowdsourced reviews and real-time insights, Moldmap enables you to find and share safe indoor spaces—whether for work, travel, or living—so we can start addressing this critical problem.
Moldmap is designed with sensitive individuals in mind, offering powerful tools to help you find and share safe indoor spaces. Here are the key features that set Moldmap apart:

Information -> Awareness -> Action
The first step to healthier living is awareness—recognizing the impact of indoor air quality on our health. But awareness alone isn’t enough. Action is essential to create meaningful change.
Moldmap empowers people with powerful insights into the spaces they visit, stay, or live in.
By crowdsourcing data from users, Moldmap helps individuals identify mold-free, fragrance-free, and toxin-free spaces.
Our platform will give everyone the power to share their experiences and make informed decisions, creating a ripple effect that benefits everyone in the community.
Moldmap ensures that people have the tools they need to avoid health risks before they arise.
Awareness becomes action when travelers, homeowners, and businesses commit to improving indoor air quality—ensuring that every space we enter is a healthier one.
Your Reviews Catalyze Real Change
One of our main goals is to be a leading facilitator of change for improving indoor air quality of buildings all around the world.
We will make this happen using our community-powered data to alert building owners and managers that there could be a problem, and connecting them to the resources and professionals needed to fix it.
Many property owners simply don't know they could have a mold issue, or that VOCs or fragrances could be making some of their guests feel poorly.
Our platform will prioritize making this feedback accessible to property owners and help legitimize it as something that's important to address.
Once a business or property owner has made the necessary changes, they will have the ability to certify this on Moldmap, which will be done in conjunction with testing and a licensed Indoor Environmental Professional (where available).
Healthier guests, healthier businesses. It's a win-win for all!
The Future of Moldmap: Real-Time, Portable Mycotoxin Sensors
As we work to develop and improve the Moldmap platform, we are also working hard to revolutionize the future of indoor air quality testing through the development of a novel, real-time indoor mycotoxin (mold) sensor.
Assessing indoor air quality can be cumbersome, time consuming, and expensive.
It's not practical nor possible to test every single new building you walk in to, but leading-edge materials science and engineering are starting to make entirely new solutions possible.
Our long-term vision is to be able to provide every Moldmap user with their own portable realtime mycotoxin sensor that connects wirelessly to your smartphone and quickly uploads and stores the data to the Moldmap cloud, letting you--and others--know whether a location could be unsafe.
It's clear that more--and better--data will be key to creating real change at scale.
We are building the technology to get us there.
The Community Impact: Creating Healthier Spaces Together
Moldmap isn’t just an app; it’s a community-driven movement for cleaner, healthier indoor air. Every user contribution—whether a review, rating, or feedback—helps others make informed, healthier choices about where to stay, live, and work.
By joining Moldmap, you’re part of a transparent, accountable network that empowers both users and property owners to prioritize air quality. Your reviews not only guide others to safer spaces but also encourage businesses to improve their indoor environments.
This collective effort has a ripple effect: as more people contribute, Moldmap’s data grows more reliable and influential, giving users the confidence to explore new places without worry. Every review strengthens the community and supports positive change across neighborhoods, cities, and beyond.
With your involvement, Moldmap becomes more than a tool—it’s a catalyst for long-term, widespread change. Together, we can create a world where everyone has access to safe, clean air, making healthy spaces the norm, not the exception.
