Megaphone is an online independent media platform that produces daily explainers and critical analytical multimedia content covering current affairs in Lebanon and the region, as well as social and cultural commentary, in formats adapted to digital media.

Why support Megaphone?

Megaphone first started as a volunteer-led project, but our transition to daily news coverage required the team to dedicate itself fully to the project. Today, 25+ people create content on a daily basis while constantly innovating, growing, and staying true to our journalistic standards.

A non-profit, Megaphone funds itself essentially through carefully selected grants. Finding donors that do not impose editorial restrictions is challenging, limiting the number of grants that Megaphone can tap into. 

Megaphone is committed to keeping its content free of a paywall, because we believe that quality information should be accessible to all. 

That’s why Megaphone needs the financial support of members of our community who can afford it, to help sustain and expand its work.
