Help us give girls AND boys the tools they need to navigate adolescence with confidence, resilience, and kindness. While we remain committed to providing programs for girls and their parents, we are tremendously excited to have added HEROES to our lineup, and have delivered this program to more than 200 fourth-and fifth-grade boys this year. We currently are hard at work creating programs for boys to match and intersect with the programs we offer for girls in grades K-8.
By offering your financial support, you will provide the funds needed to double our reach through programs that address the unique challenges girls AND boys face as they develop a healthy self-concept and healthy relationships.
Where Do We Spend Money?
Our programs support the Illinois Social Emotional Learning (SEL) standards used in our public schools. We do that by creating fun and engaging half-day and all-day workshops, which include professionally-led breakout sessions, crafts, projects, and individual and team challenges for children in grades K-8, that reinforce important SEL lessons.
These programs are facilitated by paid professional counselors, social workers, and youth workers, and we subsidize the per-child program cost and offer scholarships for every program in order to keep our program fees affordable by all.
We also provide topical parent education opportunities, bringing in national and local experts, and sponsoring cutting-edge documentaries we strive to provide at no cost or low-cost to parents (and again, scholarships are always available).
