Support Community Water Justice!
Community Water Justice is a grassroots network of frontline communities in Maine working to maintain rights and responsibilities to clean, drinkable water for future generations.
Established in Fryeburg, Maine in 2012, CWJ has worked with communities across the state to protect drinking water sources from privatization and pollution, while educating about the importance of adopting water policies that prioritize environmental health and human dignity over profit.
We are accountable to communities that are impacted by water privatization and instability. We are also accountable to future generations, whose lives will be shaped by the decisions we make today. By shifting to responsible water policy and raising environmental consciousness, we can leave a more peaceful and livable future to our children.
Why donate to us? Community Water Justice is unique in the sense that we are the only organization in the state which has dedicated itself to addressing the issue of water privatization. As stated before, we are grassroots, driven by a love for the natural environment, for humanity, and a commitment to justice for the communities who have been devastated by a system of exploitation and the resulting ecological, economic and political crises.
With your support, we will be able to continue educating, networking and organizing people across the state toward water justice and a more equitable future.
