Goal
WVEW is Brattleboro's only community radio station. We've been on the air for 13 years and have always been entirely volunteer run and community supported. During the COVID-19 pandemic we switched to broadcasting from our homes. This has been a wonderful and challenging experience! Our DJ's have supported each other in establishing the tech infrastructure, training and peer support to get thirty of our shows on the air every week. With your help we can make sure that all of our hosts can get on the air and we can continue to thrive.
Each month it costs about $1000 for us to operate. We usually raise that money through member contributions (each show pays $100 a year), fundraising and underwriting from local businesses and organizations.
This year our summer fundraiser at the Vermont Welcome Center is looking doubtful. This usually brings in around $1500. In addition to that we are not going to be actively seeking underwriting contributions from our local businesses as they try to ride out the slowdown in economic activity.
We are looking to members of the community to support us through monthly or one-time donations. Can you help by donating and sharing this request with your friends and family?
You can listen to our diverse programming in the Brattleboro area on 107.7 fm or wherever you are at wvew.org or on radio apps such as Simple Radio and TuneIn.
