Support Black Girls CODE

Black Girls CODE builds pathways for Black girls to embrace the current tech

marketplace as builders and creators by introducing them to skills in computer

programming and technology. Radical action is needed if we are to close the opportunity gap for Black women and girls. We lead a global movement to establish equal representation in the tech sector. Black Girls CODE is devoted to showing the world that Black girls can code and do so much more. Together, we are creating stronger economies and more equitable societies—ultimately realizing the true potential of democracy through

diversity and inclusion.

Kombo Ventures

Dear Black Girls Code,   On behalf of Kombo Ventures, we are honored to be able to make this donation of $2,500 to be used for the advancement of the Black Girls Code non-profit organization. We as a team admire the work and efforts to provide African-American youth the exposure of computer science and technology. Being in the creative field, our team is 90% female and we see how important it is for girls to have the necessary skill set to go from consumers to content creators and use technology and computer science to design their own futures. Your cause really resonated with us because we feel girls need opportunities to learn about and be encouraged to pursue a future in computer programming and technological innovation. We need more inclusion of black and girls of color to have an opportunity to grow, learn and love the endless possibilities of technology. We hope that this contribution will help provide resources to continue building and shaping the future of young girls.   We wish you the best of luck with all your endeavors.   With love, Kombo Ventures Los Angeles, CA

I started in computers in the 1970's and took a programming class. I did not program but went into computer operations. Most jobs I was the only black female in my department. I stayed in computers until 2018 in the IT field. This touches my heart to see our girls given the chance to strive in technology.
