Support Black Girls CODE

Black Girls CODE builds pathways for Black girls to embrace the current tech

marketplace as builders and creators by introducing them to skills in computer

programming and technology. Radical action is needed if we are to close the opportunity gap for Black women and girls. We lead a global movement to establish equal representation in the tech sector. Black Girls CODE is devoted to showing the world that Black girls can code and do so much more. Together, we are creating stronger economies and more equitable societies—ultimately realizing the true potential of democracy through

diversity and inclusion.

Over the past several months I led a group of over 100 women to pray for our nation for 100 days straight. We prayed daily for peace for our country, to end racial disparities, for our country's leadership and we also prayed for each other. Part of our charge was to also take action on these topics, so we decided to choose an organization to donate funds to that addresses the issue of racial disparities. To raise the funds we had t-shirts made by a company whose CEO is black and female, and she gave 15% of the sales to Black Girls Who Code on behalf of our prayer group. There was also one member of our prayer group who decided to finish out 2020 with a monthly donation to your organization and has committed to an annual donation for 2021. On behalf of our prayer group I am honored to be sending this donation to an organization that is focused on empowering young girls.
