I work as the K-6 computer science specialist for Fairfax County Public Schools. I've seen first-hand the benefits of computer science access (increased empowerment, creativity, and interest in content) to our most underrepresented populations (BIPOC, female), and yet, the teachers who want to take on computer science in their classrooms tend to teach White/Asian affluent students. Please continue this journey of driving equity for our youth so we can reshape the computer science field and our nation.

From the student organizations (Asian American Association, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, The Unforgettable Upsilon Beta Chapter of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc., El Orgullo Latino, African Student Association, National Society of Black Engineers, National Pan-Hellenic Council, Alpha Psi Lambda, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., The Cygnets Official Interest Group of Gamma Phi Omega International Sorority Incorporated, Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers, Multicultural Programming Council, Multicultural Association of Pre-Med Students, The Illustrious Epsilon Chi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Black Action Through Unity and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.) in the Multi-Ethnic Education and Engagement Center at the University of Dayton for solidarity with the Black community and raise awareness against injustice and funds for those affected.
