Invest in our future - American Indian Film Institute
For nearly five decades, the American Indian Film Festival® has captivated its audiences with its thought-provoking programming and engaging content about Native peoples. It has provided an opportunity for us to come together annually to witness cinematic accomplishments made by outstanding media makers.
As a non-profit arts organization, donations are an integral part of our overall funding raising efforts. They are much needed and much appreciated. One glance through our festival program will reveal the role donations play in the existence of the festival, as the festival would not happen without your support.
Please support AIFI - our greatest power continues to lie in our ability to tell our own stories in our own words and images.
AIFI is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization. No goods or services will be provided in exchange for the contribution.

I've enjoyed the Festival since 2008 and am very sorry to hear it has been cancelled this year. Could one know the reasons for this? Best of luck to the AIFI!

As a long time friend and supporter of the festival, the late Michael Smith has advocated for Indigenous representation in the film industry for decades. It was an honour to work with him, his kindness, passion and love for native cinema and storytelling was what he dedicated his life to and what a beautiful legacy as the American Indian Film Festival continues under the leadership of his daughter Mytia Zavala. This festival is not just about films, it encompasses and nurtures community, collaboration, inclusivity, family, love, determination and talent. Miigwetch from the bottom of my heart for all that you all do to keep native cinema alive, much love always! Xo

AIFI is an amazing window into the visual and auditory world of Indigenous Film makers and film stories. We had the honor of participating with our film in AIFI 45. "Voices from the Barrens: Native People, Blueberries and Sovereignty." Just this week the film was part of its 10th film festival, all starting with AIFI.
