B Y A R T I S T S : F O R A R T I S T S
'53two' is Manchester’s most exciting and versatile Arts Venue, aimed at supporting new and diverse talents, disabled, disenfranchised and underserved creatives and a home solely for new writing. We are the only wheelchair accessible independent theatre in the city and the only arts venue in Greater Manchester to have plans for a Changing Places facilities.
Spanning two Grade II* tunnels beneath Manchester Central the venue is operated primarily as a theatre and bar, with the space also offering room for exhibitions, gigs, events, celebrations, rehearsals, classes, conferences, banquets, weddings and more.
WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Donations to date have allowed us to open our theatre bar to full spec. They've also allowed us to open a pop-up theatre space which will 'grow' into a 150 seater, accessible theatre, as we raise the money.
Further donations will go towards ensuring that accessibility in the venue extends across both front and back of house and ensuring everywhere is as accessible as possible to all creatives. In particular backstage, we've already receive part-funding for a Changing Places Toilet but still need to raise a little more. Developments also include toilet facilities, lowered work stations, ramps and even accessible fire exits. It will also allow us to improve air flow and heating in the theatre space. All of the money donated will go towards infrastructure to make this happen.
Whatever you give will go towards creating a better and more accessible venue for the Manchester Arts and give back to emerging talent.
