Summerfield Tithes and Offerings
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Greetings and blessings of peace and good health to you! I have greatly missed being with you in person on Sunday during this time of social distancing and isolation in response to the Coronavirus pandemic. I have heard many of you express similar sentiments. It can be difficult to remain positive when we can’t directly connect with our families and friends. It is challenging to maintain our ministries at Summerfield at a social distance. Yet in spite of all this, it is so comforting to know that God is always with us, loves us completely just as we are, and will never desert us.
As members of Summerfield, we have a special calling from God to minister to his children in Milwaukee who are homeless or living on the margins. The pandemic has forced us to adjust our meal programs and day center programs to operate them at a safe social distance. Many other churches have stopped their social ministries during the pandemic – not Summerfield. I am so thankful to everyone at Summerfield who is continuing to help with the meal programs and the day center programming despite the restrictions placed on them by social distancing.
As you know, our pastoral and social ministries require our unfailing support. This is especially true at the time because our pledges and contributions are somewhat more difficult to make due to our Sunday worship time being placed on hold and because we are not receiving any loose offerings on Sunday mornings. As cheerful and caring givers, we can thank the members of Summerfield’s Finance Committee for finding several ways for us to easily contribute what we can during this time of social and financial disruption. I humbly ask that you prayerfully consider and give generously what you can at this time. Know that every dollar will be spent wisely in service to God by maintaining Summerfield’s vital social and pastoral ministries. Summerfield is doing God’s work thanks to each and every one of you.
