Goal

THE GOAL

Helping Haitian Professionals Enhance and Increase their Creativity and Productivity through a Creators In Residence Program Providing them Access to a Supportive Network, Machinery, and Tools.

HOW WE ARE REACHING THE GOAL

StreetLabs aims to transform underserved communities into labs where creativity is transformed into beautiful clothing, useful DIY products, crafts, and well-branded food products rooted into Haiti’s artistic tapestry.

We do this through our co-creating labs where young creators can ideate, design, prototype, and develop their creative muscles to produce goods for the Haitian community and the diaspora.

We empower people at the bottom of the pyramid to innovate by providing them with the tools, resources, and training required to bring beautifully Haitian-rooted products to market.

IMPACT WE AIM TO MAKE

Our co-creating space wants to be the playground for new innovators. By using our “reverse pyramid” method, we expect to reduce imported goods yearly and help Haiti gain back its place in the craft/art/fashion market which was evaluated at $391–$416 million before the earthquake according to a report by Global Communities.

We are working tirelessly to make sure local products are displayed in prime locations on supermarket shelves by creating powerful and recognizable local brands.

StreetLabs will spark creativity in the community and inspire Haitians to buy local. We dream of a Haiti where local products can clearly compete with international products.

Street Labs will create a new generation of fashion designers, woodworkers, content creators, food product makers, and other creative professionals creating quality, beauty, and not for charity.
