Storybook Tails Rescue Ranch

Storybook Tails Rescue Ranch is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue located in Mooresville, North Carolina, dedicated to giving abused, abandoned, and at-risk animals a second chance at life.

What began as one family’s decision to help a single animal in need has grown into a full rescue ranch that now cares for over 100 animals including dogs, goats, pigs, horses, donkeys, poultry, and other farm animals. Many of the animals that come to us arrive from neglect situations, owner surrenders, or circumstances where they were at risk of euthanasia or slaughter.

At Storybook Tails, we believe every animal deserves safety, dignity, and love — no matter their age, condition, or past. We provide medical care, proper nutrition, rehabilitation, and a peaceful forever home for animals that often have nowhere else to go.

Beyond rescue work, our mission also includes education and community outreach. We invite families and children to experience the ranch, meet rescued animals, and learn compassion, responsibility, and kindness through real-life connections with animals. By allowing children to see rescue work firsthand, we hope to inspire the next generation to become good stewards of animals and the world around them.

As a nonprofit rescue, we rely entirely on donations, sponsorships, and community support to continue our work. The cost of feed, veterinary care, shelter, fencing, and daily care for so many animals is significant, but we remain committed to every life we take in.
