Help End the Overdose Crisis in WV

Since COVID-19, SOAR WV has distributed over 35,000 naloxone doses across Charleston, Kanawha County, and beyond. We’re still just getting started.

SOAR's sustaining donors help to keep up the work on multiple fronts in the country’s overdose capitol. You help power monthly mutual aid fairs, regular syringe clean-up events, and annual Save a Life Days.

In between all that: SOAR members are always looking for creative ways to challenge stigma and save lives. Since 2023, SOAR helped to plant FIVE 24/7 free naloxone boxes across Charleston--inspiring a wave of vending boxes throughout WV and the US.

In 2023, SOAR was thrilled to support the first-ever Appalachian Save a Life Day. All across Appalachia (all 13 states), folks gave out over 45,000 naloxone doses. In 2024: SOAR coordinated partners in 35 states for "Save a Life Day East" who together hosted over 650 free naloxone events--distributing over 84,000 naloxone doses. In 2025, Save a Life Day spread to all 50 events, with over 1,000 events!
