The 130^th Boston Marathon

On April 20, 2026, we’ll be lining up to run the 130th Boston Marathon on behalf of Steppingstone, a Boston-based organization that partners with students from fifth grade through college and into their careers, helping create pathways to lifelong opportunity. 

This year, we’re adding an extra challenge. Kathryn will be running the marathon twice— starting in Boston at Boylston Street at 3 AM, running the course in reverse all the way to Hopkinton, and then meeting Fred in the Athlete’s Village to run the official course together back to Boylston to finish. Covering 78.6 miles between the two of us is a big goal, but we’re hopeful it will help raise awareness and inspire support for an organization we care deeply about.

We’re choosing to dedicate our miles to Steppingstone because we believe in its mission and the incredible young people it serves.

Why We’re Running for Steppingstone

Steppingstone prepares talented and resilient students from historically marginalized communities for success in college and beyond. Through academic preparation, long-term advising, and career support, Steppingstone partners with Scholars and families for years, helping students access opportunities that can truly transform their futures.

As members of Steppingstone’s Board of Ambassadors, we’ve seen the impact of this work, and we’re proud to support it.

Knowing that our miles can help open doors for Steppingstone Scholars will keep us motivated every step of the way as we run towards the finish line on Marathon Monday.
