Goal
Historic Stars Park Revitalization Campaign
The Stars Park Revitalization Campaign is a one-year effort to secure $1.35 million or more in private philanthropy for Harris-Stowe State University Athletics.
This campaign is the first in the HSSU history that will benefit HSSU Athletics and preserve a very important part of St. Louis and baseball history. Stars Park is home to the Harris-Stowe State University Baseball/Softball Programs. The field once served as the home of the St. Louis Stars' of the Negro National League from 1922-31. Four Negro League championships were played at the field. The field is located on the southwest corner of campus on the corner of Market Street and Compton Avenue. In addition, this year is the centennial celebration of National Negro League.
Achieving this fundraising goal will require support from donors at all levels throughout the entire region. We invite all alumni, faculty, staff, community members, friends who share our vision and eager to help restore a part of St. Louis, baseball and African-American history to help HSSU fulfill its goal.
