The Challenge: Schools across Southern Nevada are facing significant budget cuts, and unfortunately, many campuses are at risk of losing Communities In Schools (CIS).

Why it Matters: For thousands of students, CIS is one of the only consistent support systems on campus. Without CIS, students who are already vulnerable face a higher risk of dropping out and missing opportunities for college and careers.

The Work: Communities In Schools connects students with the relationships, resources, and support they need to succeed in the classroom and in life. By partnering with school staff and community organizations, CIS helps remove barriers to learning, whether that’s food insecurity, clothing, hygiene items, mental health referrals, or academic guidance, so students can stay focused on school and graduate prepared for their future.
