Stand United with Ukraine
Thank you so much for your generosity and support!!! So far, we have received $46,200 for the Refugee Aid Center (Polish: Centrum Pomocy Ukrainie) of St. Margaret Foundation in Lomianki near Warsaw, Poland.
The war in Ukraine has been going on for 6 months. Many Ukrainian cities were completely destroyed, thousands civilians were killed. Already more than 3.8 million Ukrainian refugees entered Poland, 97% of which are women and children. This is one of the largest humanitarian disasters in recent history of Europe. Warsaw alone accepted more than 350 thousand persons (this stands for more than 20% of the city's population). .
St. Margaret Foundation continues working with Ukrainian refugees in Lomianki. Thank to generous support of the donors we supported basic needs of more than 3,000 registered refugees. We are sharing with them second-hand clothing, medical products and food. Tons of food. These include flour, rice, pasta, oils as well as potatoes & vegetables purchased in bulk directly from producers & wholesalers.
The people of Lomianki also support the higher level needs of our dear Ukrainian guests. We organise numerous extracurricular activities for children, psychological support, facilitate Ukrainian women entering Polish job market, organise charity events with Ukrainian music & culture, fairs with Ukrainian handcraft. There is even Sunday Mass in Byzantine Rite & in Ukrainian language in our local church.
We are still collecting funds to secure basic needs of Ukrainian women and children supported by Refugee Aid Center in Lomianki. Please check our daily updates on Facebook. These are mostly in Polish & Ukrainian languages, but Facebook allows for automatic translation to English:
