Important Announcement

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we have reached our initial goal of $25,000! However, the devastation is far greater than we anticipated, and the need for long-term recovery continues to grow. We are now increasing our fundraising goal to $35,000 to expand our support for students, staff, their families, and the broader communities affected by the March 28 earthquake in Myanmar.

Exciting news

A generous donor has pledged to match the final $10,000, dollar for dollar. That means your gift today will have twice the impact. If we raise $10,000 more, the donor will match it with an additional $10,000, doubling your impact and helping us extend even more critical support to the communities.

What Happened in Myanmar

On March 28, a massive 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck Myanmar, marking the most devastating natural disaster the country has experienced in over a century.

  • Over 2,000 lives lost

  • Thousands displaced

  • Widespread power outages, food shortages, and infrastructure collapse

At Parami University, our community has been deeply affected.

  • One student lost both her home and her grandfather

  • At least 10 students’ families lost their homes due to building collapses

  • About 30 students live in the most severely impacted areas, facing trauma, displacement, and basic needs challenges

  • Communication, electricity, and access to services remain severely disrupted

How Parami is Responding

Despite these challenges, our students are stepping up in extraordinary ways.
Students from less-affected areas like Yangon have traveled 400–500 miles to reach Mandalay and other hard-hit regions. They are offering student-to-student support, helping families, and volunteering with both Parami-led and external relief teams, serving not only their peers but also broader communities in need.

We need your help to expand this effort.

New Goal: $35,000

With your support, we can continue providing both emergency relief and long-term recovery assistance.

What Your Gift Can Do

  • $25 – Provide clean drinking water and snacks for a student or family

  • $50 – Supply a week’s worth of food and hygiene items

  • $100 – Support temporary shelter and emergency relief

  • $250 – Fund internet access and basic tech for continued learning

  • $500+ – Help a student and their family recover and rebuild

Why Your Support Matters

In times of devastation, community matters more than ever. Your donation brings hope, stability, and healing to those who need it most.

Give today and your gift will be doubled through our $10,000 match
