St. Gertrude Pre & Primary School - Kilimahewa (S. Fausta)

In 2019, Sister Fausta Mtweve was assigned as principal at this newly-constructed school in a small village about 80 km. south of Dar Es Salaam. 

She organized the facility, recruited teachers and students, and the school opened in the Fall, with 34 kindergarten and first graders.

The coronavirus caused all schools in Tanzania to close in March 2020. They eventually reopened, but Covid ravaged the Tanzanian economy, forcing families to withdraw students from private schools. 

Fausta continued to set up the school, and has added another grade each year. She needs school supplies and furniture. 

Her training and experience in education and management will be put to good use at this school, also called St. Gertrude Pre and Primary School - in Kilimahewa.
