Goal
Hi! My name is Jess Mercado and last year i became an amputee due to a motorcycle accident, among various other injuries. Less Leg More Heart has been so gracious in helping me learn to adapt to my new situation as I've only been an amputee for just over a year. They have sent me items that help me get around the house easier, along with sending me so many other items that have been life changing for me. Its like they know exactly what i need before i even realize it. I just want to say thank you to LLMH for all that they do and i want to continue to help myself & others through this fundraiser. I am campaigning for this fundraiser because i truly believe in its cause. This funding directly impacts my life and will allow me to go to next year's Amputee Coalition National Conference, along with helping others in so many ways. THANK You for your support!
The Amputee Coalition National Conference is held every August at different locations nationwide. The premier event for the limb loss and limb difference community, the Amputee Coalition’s national conference is the only consumer-focused event that creates the opportunity for people living with limb loss and limb difference to interact with a breadth of solutions on the market. During the conference, attendees engage with vendors, touch and feel the latest prostheses on the market, and leverage that experience to make informed decisions about their care and needed supports.
National Conference is also the Amputee Coalition’s largest activity designed to reach the community en masse based on our founding principles, including the importance of peer support and elevating expertise gained only through lived experience. Conference allows for education and engagement across all program areas (education, support, and advocacy). Amputees who attend the conference get the opportunity to experience a sense of community among thousands of people with similar experiences of limb loss, connect to peer support networks, enhance their learning, access vendors and interact with new and innovative prosthetic devices and other technologies.
Please help us send and support a group of amputees to this invaluable conference!!
