Sponsor a Student - Weekend Backpack Program

$250 sponsors one student to receive food throughout the school year. We average between 50-60 students each week.

Holmen's Hope launched the Weekend Backpack Program in the fall of 2016, starting with Sand Lake Elementary. Shortly after, the program expanded to include all elementary schools and the middle school within the School District of Holmen.

The program’s goal is to ensure food security for students who may not have consistent access to meals outside of school. Each backpack contains enough food for multiple meals, including breakfast items, a couple lunch or dinner options, fruit and vegetable cups, and snacks.

Families in need are identified through the School District of Holmen, ensuring that support is provided to those who need it most in a respectful and confidential manner.

Every Friday during the school year, these food bags are delivered to the participating schools, allowing students to take them home for the weekend.

The program is made possible entirely through the support of the community, relying on generous monetary and food donations from individuals, businesses, and local organizations.
