SOW Missions 2025

Dear family and friends,

I wanted to share an opportunity and privilege of going to Sendai, Japan for a short-term mission trip this summer with Student Outreach World (SOW) working closely with local missionaries and churches.

Since post-highschool I've been challenged in the way that I have lived my life and about my knowledge of God. Since then by God's grace, I've been able to serve Him whole heartedly and answer this calling.

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭19‬-‭20‬ ‭

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

By God's grace, we have been sent and called to spread the gospel, and as we continue to grow as Christians we must not grow complacent in our growth and become more servant hearted - whole heartedly serving the Lord. Reflecting on my own trials - I have taken for granted being served, not realising the importance of serving out of His love, and growing complacent in what I know because of the privilege we live in daily. 

Through this mission trip I wish to get a glimpse into full-time mission ministry while faithfully serving the Lord overseas, witnessing how He is working in places other than Sydney. As I continue to serve here in Australia and on campus, I'm excited to see how God will further use me in Japan and back in Australia after reflection and growth.

Japan is a country in which the percentage of christianity is low, roughly around 1% of their population, and we as Christians ( and as students ) should find greater urgency in spreading the gospel and His love everywhere.
