Southern Irrigation Malawi Fundraiser

Southern Irrigation Malawi Project Fundraiser:

The team from Southern Irrigation hopes to travel to Malawi, the Lord willing in February 2023 to work alongside our partner, Timotheos Foundation, as they engage in agricultural projects, community relief and development and children’s ministries and activities.

Project location:

Malawi is amoung the world’s most impoverished and least developed nations. Timotheos Foundation is based in Blantyre, Malawi, and operates numerous child care centers in the country.  The team will be focusing on the work in the Nsanje region at the Chigumukire center. This center provides education and care to the most needy in the community.

Project Objectives - $20,000 Goal

The team hopes to assist with a variety of community development projects while they are there such as improvements to an irrigation project, home visits to the sick and elderly in the community and ministry, games and activities with the children. The Chigumukire center currently operates an agricultural program and the primary project will be to install and train the locals on a drip irrigation system. These gardens are not only utilized to provide food for the children in the center, but also a way of future sustainability for the ministry as produce is sold in the market for a profit.

The team will also be actively raising funds towards their trip costs over and above the project goal- donations for this should be labelled "Team" and not be contributed through this campaign.
