Goal

Rugged Coast Research Society (RCRS) has been mapping plastic debris accumulation along the BC Coast since 2017. Marine plastic debris has been found in all location, however, several locations contain significantly greater concentrations and are therefore priority areas for clean-up. Mapping results indicate that South Brooks Peninsula has the highest concentrations of plastic debris and therefore is a priority clean-up location.

RCRS, BC Marine Trails and Seize Change started clean-up of South Brookes Peninsula in the summer of 2019 and collected 25 super sacs over a 7 day period. This was only a start; additional cleaning is required in 2020 to remove the remaining debris.

All donations will go directly towards marine plastic removal and marine debris mapping.
