Sponsor a Teacher at School of Mercy
Partner with us to make education accessible to over 400 Ugandan children, by sponsoring a teacher at School of Mercy.
When a teacher is sponsored it enables us to significantly reduce the school fees parents pay to educate their children. This makes schooling affordable, without taking away the responsibility from parents.
Plus your sponsorship dollar goes much further! When sponsoring just one third of a teachers salary, $34 per month, you are effectively providing affordable education for one third of the pupils they teach.
Check out the Teacher profiles here. When you have chosen the one you want to sponsor, include their name in the comment field when submitting your donation. Alternatively, we can allocate one automatically.

Background:
School of Mercy, located in Adwari, Northern Uganda, began in 2004 as a school and displacement camp for locals taking refuge from Kony’s Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA), which abducted and enslaved thousands of children as soldiers and sex slaves.
Now the LRA has moved away from the area, School of Mercy is restoring the Adwari community by providing subsidised early childhood and primary education to children from its poorest families living below the poverty line.
Pamela Ward, is a New Zealander volunteering at School of Mercy to coordinate fundraising. She has lived in Adwari for over 1 year, and now engaged to a Ugandan, intends to remain permanently in the country.
Please note, your donations are not tax deductible, as School of Mercy is registered in Uganda only.
