Soles of the Flathead- Ryan and Eve Hunter

Ryan Hunter is the newly elected Mayor of Kalispell. His day job is working for the Flathead Land Trust, protecting wildlife habitat, clean water, family farms, and open spaces through community conservation. He also serves on the board of the Community Action Partnership of Northwest Montana, helping those in need. Mayor Hunter works with the Collaborative Housing Solutions partnership to address housing and homelessness in our community and participates in the Flathead Trails Association to promote trails in the Flathead. He has a degree in Urban Planning and over twenty years of experience working in conservation.

In his spare time, Mayor Hunter enjoys outdoor activities with his family, a good book and listening to live music. Mayor Hunter has been a strong advocate on the City Council for the Flathead Warming Center and is dancing to support the organization’s life saving mission.

Eve Hunter is a lead preschool teacher at Children’s House Montessori School in Whitefish, where she works with children ages 3-6. When she’s not teaching, Eve embraces the natural beauty of our region through hiking, camping, and kayaking, as well as creating art and gardening. She is honored to support the Warming Center, whose work provides safety and essential resources to members of our community experiencing homelessness.

The Flathead Warming Center saves lives and LINKs our unhoused neighbors to the tools and resources needed to move beyond homelessness. 

Soles of the Flathead is a local star-studded dance competition to raise the funds needed to care for our neighbors. Whether we are talking about "soles" or "souls", one thing's for sure, "We take care of each other in the Flathead."
