In sub-Sarahan Africa, 98 million children will not attend school today. Why? Not because they're unmotivated, but because there aren't enough schools or teachers. Having lived and served in South Africa for over 16 years, I have seen firsthand the challenges children face in trying to get an education. Churches have stepped up to start more schools, but often educators haven't been trained to teach from a biblical worldview.  PS78 Teachers ministry aims to equip teachers in Africa and around the world through a certificate program and a Master of Arts in Christian Education degree program. 

As part of ELI, which focuses on training pastors, PS78 Teachers equips educators and helps evangelical churches start Christian schools. ELI's founder dreamed of providing training to educators as well as pastors. Now that dream can be fulfilled!

Susan Newkirk was first drawn to missions at the age of 11, when her family did volunteer mission work in India for three months. Having come to faith in Christ through the influence of her Sunday school teacher, Susan spent four years in Madrid and later over 16 years reaching children and women for Christ in Cape Town, South Africa. She serves as the Academic Program Administrator for PS78 Teachers ministry.
