One year ago, we set out on a bold mission:
To upgrade the entire Korando Educational Center so more than 300 children could learn, eat, sleep, and grow in dignity and safety.

And you - our Better Me family -  made it happen. 💛

Thanks to your generosity, we raised €30,000 — and together, we:

• Upgraded essential school infrastructure

• Improved classrooms, showers, toilets and learning spaces

• Renovated kitchen, dining hall and dormitories

• Purchased school materials and lab equipment 

• Secured the center’s official registration

• Created a safer, more inspiring home for 300 children every single day

Today, Korando Educational Center is fully operational — a vibrant, secure place where children can learn, dream, and thrive.

🎁✨ This Year’s Christmas Mission: 6 Months of Hope

Now that the foundation is strong, we turn our focus to what truly brings the Korando Family to life each day: the meals, the teachers, the care, the activities, the football trainings, the emotional support - and all the daily love that holds the children we serve together across Korando, Nyalenda Youngstars, Mama Ngina, and the Remand Home.

This Christmas, we aim to raise €15,000

• 🥞 300+ children receive daily breakfast

• 🍛 100+ boarding students receive 3 meals a day

• ⚽ 150+ children in Nyalenda slum receive football training and support

Better Me and her partners serve vulnerable children 'the Korando Family' from some of the hardest backgrounds in Kisumu, offering:

• Free kindergarten, primary, and junior high education

• Boarding for the most vulnerable

• Nyalenda Youngstars community football program in the slum

• Support for babies at Mama Ngina 

• Life-skills and emotional support for Remand Home youth

• Food security, safety, healthcare and emotional support

• A loving, community-driven environment
