Acharya and Shastra Gratitude

In the Vedic tradition, receiving sacred knowledge is not just an act of learning—it’s a relationship. A relationship with the teacher, the wisdom, and the ancient lineage that makes this transformation possible.

That’s why, before beginning a new study like Karma Yoga, students are traditionally invited to give a heartfelt offering—called dakṣhiṇā—to express gratitude. It’s not payment. It’s a spiritual gesture. A way to honor the source of teachings that may change your life.

This offering recognizes the invisible karmic debt we carry toward the seers, scriptures, and teachers who illuminate our path. It’s also how we align ourselves—heart, intention, and energy—with the sacred path of Karma Yoga itself.

When we give with sincerity, we don’t just support a platform—we step into right relationship with the knowledge itself. We prepare the soil for our own transformation.

Let your gratitude flow, and let it prepare the ground for what is to come.

Thank you,

From Team Acharya Shunya

R.E.S.T – How divine is this acronym? It bought a deeper sense of peace and joy to the practice of Witnessing. To recognise and Witness the quietening of ego. The letting go of the demands of mind and body and surrendering to the stillness and presence of the moment. Thank you for sharing this gem.
