Goal

Hi everyone!

Thank you visiting my donor page! After learning about period poverty in 2021, I committed myself to help my community no matter how big or small. Period products are an essential to ALL who mensturate and they should be readily accessible. Join me this year and fight period poverty alongside For Women By Women, Period.

About FWBW.

For Women By Women, Period is a nonprofit based in NYC fighting period poverty. Our mission is to provide access to menstrual products for those affected by period poverty through distribution, education, and advocacy for menstrual equity. What started off as a small project flourished into a nonprofit that has supported over 20,000 menstruators. We have received the support of many amazing NYC based companies that have donated thousands of products this year. Along with tackling period poverty through distribution we have also started our educational initiative this year, so we can begin having conversations surrounding menstrual and reproductive health in our community.

What is Period Poverty?

Period poverty refers to the inadequate access to menstrual hygiene products and education which often disproportionately affects marginalized communities due to economic, social, and cultural barriers. In the United States, period poverty is a pressing issue, particularly among low-income individuals and marginalized groups such as people of color, women, transgender and non-binary individuals.

Our Impact:

- For Women By Women, Period has distributed 381,864 products in the NYC and NJ areas since our start in 2021. In Queens, Brooklyn, & Bronx. Supporting over 20,000 menstruators

- During the 2023-2024 school year we had 3 youth programs based out of Rochester, Bronx, Queens. The amazing young women involved conducted a product drive at their schools and donated the products to those in need in their community. They also had various discussions surrounding menstruation and period poverty with our Youth Program Director.

- We hosted our first Blossom Workshop with Girl Scouts Troop based out of Queens. We discussed body positivity and what to expect with your first period.

Donate now and be part of something bigger, your generosity transforms lives. Together we can fight period poverty one cycle at a time.
