Join San Francisco Black Community Matters
We are now a subscription-based business that is responding to local efforts to broadcast local actions to re-build the Black Community in San Francisco. Join us in celebrating our achievements and in our efforts to address the inequalities that impact many of our most vulnerable.
San Francisco Black Community Matters is a nondiscriminatory social network of change-makers. All who embrace our mission, values, and vision of a strong Black San Francisco community are welcome to join us in this effort. Regardless of race, color, national or ethnic origin, age, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, veteran status, or any other characteristic.
We want to work with you!
San Francisco’s Black and African American representation has declined to approximately 3% of the city’s population of nearly 1 million. Much of our former population of 17% has been socially and economically displaced. The remaining reside within the neighborhoods of Bayview-Hunters Point, Visitacion Valley, the Fillmore, and we are scattered throughout the city.
Our Mission:
- We are organizing this social network to include allies in common causes that address the concerns of San Francisco’s Black Community Matters.
- We are dedicated and committed to increasing Black presence, participation, and visibility in the San Francisco community through civic engagement.
- We are organizing to help rebuild Black businesses, provide learning opportunities, and promote black-centered achievements and community events.
