Service & Leadership Scholarship
Service & Leadership Scholarship
The Sisters of St. Dominic of Blauvelt and Dominican College have established a Service & Leadership Scholarship for Dominican College students who qualify. The award will be granted annually to students with financial need who exhibit service to others as an integral part of their life and education.
Recipients of the Service & Leadership Scholarship will be required to participate in 40 hours of service per semester including weekly involvement with the Dominican Sisters of Blauvelt, participation in the Dominican Young Adults local chapter, bi-weekly reflections with the Sisters and with the Director of Campus Ministry, and participation in the annual National College Preaching in Action Conference hosted by Dominican Youth Movement USA.
The goals of the partnership between Dominican College and the Sisters of St. Dominic is to foster in students a deeper understanding of the Dominican tradition, teaching, and foundation; to become community leaders dedicated to social action on and off campus; to empower others through service and leadership; and to contribute to the growth of the Dominican College Dominican Young Adults chapter.
The spring 2021 recipients of the Service & Leadership Scholarship are Yvanna Diaz and Celine Cornelly.
