“Senior hunger is a year round issue, but can become more prevalent during the winter months. According to Feeding America, one in six seniors are considered food insecure. This means about 57,000 seniors in Idaho may be dealing with the issue of food insecurity, which can create negative impacts on their health.” KIVI News

This holiday season, help us provide 1,152 locally sourced meals to Boise senior citizens experiencing food insecurity. We are accepting donations with immense gratitude for this campaign on #GivingTuesday and from November 16-30, 2022.

“Our lives are within the four walls of our home as my loved one is bed-bound and cannot be left alone. These meals are such a blessing. They give us a new activity to share, something fun to unwrap and explore in conversation.” - Senior Fuel Kit recipient

      Senior Fuel Kit Program

We recently partnered with Idaho’s Area 3 Senior Services Agency (A3SSA) to launch a meal kit program for local seniors.

Each fuel kit contains six nourishing ready-to-eat meals that can sit in the fridge for 1-2 days.

Unlike many charitable food resources, our meals are made using fresh ingredients that are locally sourced from nearby farms, bakeries, and ranches.

Meals are prepared by our restaurant partners – Gaston’s Bakery, Bardenay Restaurant, and Bittercreek Alehouse – and are made with senior nutrition in mind.

City of Good pays restaurants for each meal ($6.75 on average) and provides volunteers opportunities to pick-up, package, and deliver fuel kits.

Help us launch this program by contributing to and sharing our #GivingTuesday campaign!

      Our Circle of Good

With support from our partners and community, City of Good has delivered over 80,000 nutritious and locally sourced meals to our neighbors experiencing food insecurity.

When you support City of Good, you support our local farmers, restaurants, and neighbors in need.

It takes a community to change a community.
