HKTAG is aiming to send 3 teams to participate and represent Hong Kong at the 2023 Tag Rugby World Cup (2-5 August) in Ireland and need your support in making this a reality!
HKTAG has over 80 players shortlisted into the wider training squad undergoing selections at the moment, and are curating a final squad of 52 of players for the 3 categories of Hong Kong Tag Teams:
Mixed Open; Men's 30; and Men's 40
As HKTag is unaffiliated to the larger formal rugby entities in Hong Kong, they are self funded and operated by passionate volunteers.
The HKTag has launched a crowdfunding campaign to help all of its players meet the costs of representing HONG KONG at the World Cup.The costs of playing will run into a few tens of thousand Hong Kong dollars per person listed below. Any help you can give will make the tour more affordable for the players.
- Flight & local transportation $15000
- Accommodation $4000
- Team kits, registration & insurance $2000
- Any excess funds will be used to cover coach fee, onsite physiotherapy service. pitch hiring etc

To grow this game further and make this inclusive, accessible and diverse sport even more accessible to many more people in Hong Kong, we need your support to help our Hong Kong team members raise awareness of our sport at the upcoming global event of the 2023 Tag World Cup.
- continue to promote equality, diversity and equal opportunity in sports via tag rugby
- continue to provide subsidised participation fees to include more diverse communities to try out tag rugby, including helpers, underprivileged kids, minorities and more
- develop at least 3 school programs that allow more kids to try out and enjoy this team sport which is easy to pick up and a great entry into contact rugby
- continue to partner with and fundraise for the existing 3 partner NGO/charities to maintain impact and contribution to society through sport
