Second Chance Scholarship Fund for Women

The Woman’s Club of Beckley is utilizing BAF’s “Building over Time” option to create a scholarship fund that will help women who seek skills that will enhance employment opportunities and their ability to care for themselves and their families. The fund was initiated with a $5,000 challenge grant from Randall and Joyce Broyles in honor of their daughter Shari Jones and her family. Shari is a former teacher and past president of the Woman’s Club of Beckley. Recipients of this scholarship must be women residing in Raleigh County and enrolled at New River Community and Technical College so as to prepare themselves for employment or advancement in their current employment.
