SeatPack Mobile Eco-Classrooms

Greetings from Kampala, Uganda,

We are young social designers from Uganda (East Africa) passionate about Increasing Access to Quality Education while Reducing Forest Pressure by distributing Low-Carbon Classroom Furniture called a SeatPack: to children in the World´s Most low-income primary schools.

The SeatPack is: a €30 solar school bag that becomes a bamboo chair with a writing surface for sitting and writing in day-time classrooms (indoor or outdoor) and provides solar lighting for night-time study at home.

Every SeatPack serves a child for 5 school years daily.

By donating or purchasing, you directly enable us to:

  • Increase Global Quality Education by providing missing classroom furniture to children in low-income schools: Distributing SeatPacks to children at scale

  • Provide green energy access to off-grid homes through school attending children: Replacing kerosene lamps with solar lamps after sunset.

  • Provide menstrual hygiene support kits to adolescent girls inside every SeatPack unit (50% of each batch distributed).

We identify schools in need of SeatPacks by teacher nomination, and deliver those you donate to the children for use over 5 school years.

Today, over 5,000 children use SeatPacks daily from donations made by our community of SeatPackers (donors that gift SeatPacks) and over 1,000 homes have replaces kerosene lamps with SeatPack solar lamps.

We are delighted that you choose to see this impact grow to 1 million children supported on their education journey in low-income schools by 2040!

We celebrate you. Thank you!

Arnold Mugagga,

Founder, SeatPack.
