Goal
To address many of the harsh realities contributed to poor attendance and academic failure, Project LINK provides students with free school supplies, administer enrichment programs, corporate employee tutoring & mentoring, distribute alarm clocks; assist homeless families with securing permanent housing; offer soft skill training to help parents become employable; and facilitate donor drives for sneakers, socks, & school uniforms.
We developed a program to distribute what we call “Success Kits”, which includes: Backpack, school supplies, hygiene items, two sets of school uniforms, three pair of socks and age appropriate undergarments. By balancing the playing field with uniforms, it is less likely for children to be picked on or shunned for lack of adequate clothing.
One of the most obvious arguments for school uniforms is, having all children dressed the same, which reduces bullying and teasing. In an era of status brands and high-fashion trends, clothing has become a definitive status symbol for children and teens.
School uniforms enhance cohesiveness among students, improve attendance and academic performance, reduce discipline problems, prevent social stratification, help with school-community safety and promote school spirit.
We are asking the support of individuals, civic leaders, and businesses to partner with us by sponsoring school uniforms for at least 1 child targeted for our ‘Success Kits’ program. Our goal is to raise $25,000 to sustain our year-round efforts in student development and achievement.
Please join our partners - Simply Healthcare, Tampa Police Department, & Hillsborough County Public Schools as, we aim to ensure to sustain our year-round efforts in student development and achievement.
