School of Bobaji
Momentum is joining forces with Bobaji Village School to help the most vulnerable children by providing them a meal and school material.
A critical issue in the region is the struggle to afford food and buy basic school material such as pen, or booknote. Disparities in educational indicators such as school progression, retention, and dropout rates associated with wealth remain high in several countries. Secondary school children frequently drop out of their education, further increasing the poverty cycle.
By providing a simple meal at secondary schools, we offer motivation for parents to enroll their children, meanwhile encouraging the existing students to remain there and focus on learning. In Bobaji Village, a kitchen currently works with local women who are employed as cooks.
Our aim is to provide lunch for 230 children on a yearly basis, estimating that the cost of the dish is US$14 per trimester per student.
📌 LAST UPDATE COVID 19: we have updated this campaign to raise awareness. With the school closed in March and April 2020, we need help to support underprivileged family who are facing hunger because of the lockdown.
Joins us and help us write a better future for the students of Bobaji.
