Goal

Harvest is a fast-growing village school outside of Offuman, Ghana. Our students come from surrounding villages, many live in mud huts without plumbing or electricity.
We started out as a kindergarten and now have to upgrade it to elementary

The school is popular and our classrooms are packed beyond our expectations. Harvest school does charge a minimal school fee, but as our location is in a poor farming community many students cannot pay. Our goal is to offer high standards in education to the poorest community while helping them break the cycle and bridging the gap that exists in rural farming communities.

School entrance where we have to put up fences.

Harvest is located in a forest of teak trees just off of the main road between the villages. We have no shortage of land that we can use. Thanks to the farmers we have cleared away trees and stumps behind the school where we are growing tomatoes to help fund our school expansion. We have one full acre of land that can be used.

50 logs of wood will be used for building new classrooms and teachers' rooms.

The area surrounding the school is sand and red clay. It makes the school very dusty. We would like to landscape the area to include a paved basketball court that can also be used for tennis, badminton and for the children to learn how to ride bicycles.

Harvest school main hall and entrance get a makeover

We have a plan to pave a footpath around the playground and add more structures for the children to play on.

Reception area and outside of the school.

Our goal is to build six classrooms for primary one to six. We will also need a second toilet so we can separate girls and boys. We would also like to build a teacher's office and a library.
