Causale / Reason Gaza Scholarship  

Thanks to your generosity — and after months of tireless work from our partners and friends in exploring every possible legal and humanitarian route — in April we were finally able to welcome Sarah and Ibrahim, the two students from Gaza. Their arrival in the spring marked not only a triumph of perseverance and solidarity, but also a powerful reminder of what access to education can mean in times of profound crisis. Sarah and Ibrahim have quickly settled into the community and this August, the College will be admitting two more students from Gaza: Mariam and Omar, whose stories of courage and hope reflect the very heart of the UWC mission.

We are deeply grateful to all those who made it possible for Sarah and Ibrahim to begin their journey here in Duino. We are also very grateful that Omar and Mariam’s scholarships are almost entirely covered, thanks largely to a new perpetual Endowment Scholarship for Palestinian Students given by a UWC Adriatic alumna in response to the crisis. 

However, we still need your help to do more, in particular in funding the many additional costs - travel, wellbeing and support during holidays. Your continued support will allow us to offer this essential care for these students and offer life-changing opportunities to more students from Gaza in the years to come.
